The West Carleton Health Access Foundation is happy to announce that the X-Ray Clinic at the West Carleton Family Medical Centre is once again open for business. Our new equipment was installed last month and is operating very well. Clients can be assured of the same high quality service and prompt results when attending the X-Ray Clinic.
The Foundation’s X-Ray Vision Campaign continues towards our goal of raising $350,000 to install state of the art digital x-ray equipment. But, it was essential to move forward at this time to continue to provide the service in our Carp facility. When we reach our goal, changes will be made to update the current equipment.
Our campaign has raised $120,000. as a result of generous donations from the community and a large donation of $40,000. from Waste Management. We ask our community again, to consider a donation or a pledge to the Foundation to help us reach our goal. Help us to “KEEP HEALTH SERVICES LOCAL”

WEST CARLETON HEALTH ACCESS FOUNDATION MOVES AHEAD WITH CAMPAIGN TO FINANCE NEW XRAY EQUIPMENT…
After many months of waiting, the WCHAF has received its charitable designation and is moving forward with its’ campaign to raise funds to replace the aging X-ray equipment located on the lower level of the West Carleton Medical-Dental Centre building in Carp. On January 1, 2011, the Foundation, (a not-for-profit organization) became the owner/operator of the X-ray unit. With the support of the community, this important diagnostic service will remain open.
This X-ray unit provides easy access to a wide geographic area, serving medical practitioners and their patients in Stittsville, Kanata, Carp and the large surrounding rural area. Currently nearly 4000 patients per year use the facility. With new “state of the art” digital equipment, the image is sent to a radiologist, interpreted and reported back to your family physician, all by computer, often in a matter of hours, and in minutes if necessary. For many, the new equipment will provide a “one stop shop” for X-ray and other health related services. For others it will provide easy access to high quality X-ray services just an easy drive away.
Please consider donating generously. A tax receipt for any amount over $20 will be provided. Please send cheques payable to: West Carleton Health Access Foundation, P.O. Box 176, Carp, Ontario K0A 1L0, or use the convenient on-line method under the “Support Us” tab of our website.
